An evening of existential impact and poignant intensity: Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem, often described as an "opera for the church", reveals the full dramatic power of a composer who knew how to capture human borderline experiences in music like no other. Between the harrowing "Dies irae" and moments of quiet, glowing hope, the struggle with transience and redemption becomes immediately tangible. With an outstanding cast, featuring vocal stars such as Elīna Garanča and conducted by Italian opera conductor Daniele Gatti, the result is a musical event of overwhelming expressiveness. As the grand finale of the Hamburg International Music Festival, this evening promises to be a deeply moving concert experience.
