Jacobs Restaurant

For decades, Jacobs Restaurant has stood as a symbol of Hanseatic culinary culture – inseparably linked with the signature style of head chef Thomas Martin: precise, elegant and full of depth.

Awarded two MICHELIN Stars for ten consecutive years, the restaurant embarked on a new chapter in 2022: relaxed, approachable, and less formal – but still uncompromising in its culinary ambition. Here, light, the region and the rhythm of the Elbe inspire a subtle interplay of flavors.

A Table with a View

Dining at Jacobs Restaurant is more than gastronomy – it’s an experience. Through sweeping arched windows, the famous Lindenterrasse and the Elbe become part of the setting. Shades of grey and green echo the treetops outside, while historic details such as the stucco ceiling and four murals from the 1895 ballroom create a timeless backdrop for unforgettable evenings.

Food & Wine

At the heart of Jacobs Restaurant lies French cuisine, interpreted in a contemporary style by Thomas Martin and his team. Using regional, seasonal and organic produce, they create plates that feel both classic and modern. Our sommelier Mika Müller is on hand to recommend wines that harmonize perfectly with each course – bringing sensitivity, expertise and a deep passion for pairing food and wine.

Thomas Martin– Head Chef

Since 1997, Thomas Martin has shaped the culinary identity of Jacobs Restaurant. In 2011, he received his first two MICHELIN Stars – a recognition of his craft that reached far beyond Hamburg. Known for his engaging cooking videos on Instagram and his role as a judge on the TV show Die Küchenschlacht since 2017, Martin is considered one of the most influential chefs in Germany today.

Mika Müller– Sommelier

Since spring 2023, sommelier Mika Müller has been guiding guests through the world of wine at Jacobs Restaurant. Having trained at Hotel Louis C. Jacob before refining his expertise at Landhaus Scherrer, Traube Tonbach and other renowned houses, he brings both deep knowledge and personal passion to his role – now back where his journey began.

The Creative Collective

The signature of Jacobs Restaurant is never the work of one person alone. Behind every plate lies the collaboration of a dedicated team: people who taste, discuss and refine together until every detail is right. The result is more than a dish – it’s a complete experience.
