Jacobs Restaurant

For decades, Jacobs Restaurant has stood as a symbol of Hanseatic culinary culture – inseparably linked with the signature style of head chef Thomas Martin: precise, elegant and full of depth.

Awarded two MICHELIN Stars for ten consecutive years, the restaurant embarked on a new chapter in 2022: relaxed, approachable, and less formal – but still uncompromising in its culinary ambition. Here, light, the region and the rhythm of the Elbe inspire a subtle interplay of flavors.

Tuesday to Saturday: 18:00–22:30 (last orders 21:00)
Closed on Sunday and Monday

Book a table with a view of the Elbe

A visit to Jacobs Restaurant is more than just a culinary experience. The view of the Lindenterrasse and the River Elbe is the star of the show! Grey and green dominate the interior, and the large arched windows offer a view of the legendary Lindenterrasse.

The tree tops extend the restaurant’s colour scheme out into the open air. The ambience is also characterised by the stucco ceiling and the four murals, which originate from the historic ballroom dating from 1895 and have therefore witnessed many happy moments.

Our sommelier, Mika Müller, draws on his sensitivity and expertise to help you find the perfect wine to complement our culinary creations.

The personal touch

Meet the Team

Thomas Martin

Thomas Martin has been head chef at Jacobs Restaurant since 1997. His culinary skills are the talk of the town far beyond the borders of Hamburg.

In 2011, he was awarded two Michelin stars for the first time. On his Instagram account, he delights his followers with his easy-to-follow cooking videos. In 2021, he was voted one of the most influential figures in the culinary scene by the trade magazine *Der Feinschmecker*. Since 2017, Thomas Martin has appeared regularly as a judge on the cooking show *Die Küchenschlacht*, which enjoys excellent viewing figures.

Mika Müller

Since spring 2023, Mika Müller has been the new sommelier at Jacobs Restaurant and is therefore responsible for the world of wines. However, Jacob is not a new employer for him; after all, the 41-year-old completed his training as a restaurant specialist at the Hotel Louis C. Jacob some twelve years ago. At Landhaus Scherrer, he further developed his passion for fine wines under sommelier Florian Fiermann and deepened his experience at Traube Tonbach under Stéphane Gass. From Baiersbronn, further posts took him back to Hamburg. Most recently, Mika Müller worked as a sommelier and chef de rang at the Private Business Club Hanse Lounge.
